Etching, staining and dullness on a countertop are not permanent — and replacement is almost never the answer.
Two different projects, not one countertop before and after — etching and mineral buildup we see all the time on the left, a restored marble island from a recent job on the right. Every photo on this page is our own work.
Marble does not wear out. It is simply neglected.
We identify the stone, the depth of the etching or staining, and confirm the right process for your countertop.
Acid marks, water rings and stains are lifted from the surface without replacing a single inch of stone.
The surface is leveled and smoothed, removing scratches and restoring an even finish across the whole countertop.
Brought back to its original factory shine — or to a honed matte finish, your choice.
Optional permanent protection against the acids that caused the damage in the first place — applied once.
Once your countertop is restored, this is what keeps it that way. Most sealers sit on the surface and fade within months. Opal Luxury bonds permanently to the stone, forming a real barrier against the exact acids that caused the etching in the first place.

Dullness usually comes from years of light etching — acidic contact from citrus, wine, coffee or cleaning products that eats into the polished surface at a microscopic level. It's not dirt, so it can't be cleaned away. It's corrected with honing and re-polishing.
Marble is calcium carbonate, which reacts to acid. Lemon juice, vinegar, wine, tomato sauce and many everyday cleaning products are acidic enough to dull or mark the surface on contact, even if wiped up right away.
In almost every case, yes. We hone the surface down past the etching and re-polish it back to its original finish. Replacement is rarely necessary.
Most standard sealers only slow down staining, not etching, and fade within months. Opal Luxury is different — it bonds permanently to the stone and forms a real barrier against the acids that cause etching.
Yes — restoration is almost always faster, less disruptive and a fraction of the cost of replacing a countertop, with the same result.
